Graduates of the department obtain Marine Engineer Officer and, subsequently, Chief Engineer licenses through the Republic of Türkiye Maritime Administration Examination Center (GASM). As a result, they are able to work as Chief Engineers in national and international fleets operating across the world’s seas, often with high salaries.
Some graduates also take on managerial positions within ship-owning companies.
For those who prefer shore-based careers, graduates—equipped with a disciplined and comprehensive education—can find employment at all levels and in various areas of the maritime industry. These include roles such as energy systems engineer, quality control engineer, surveyor, classification societies, insurance organizations, and ports and operations affiliated with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, among others.
